NEC 2001
Pictures of our stand at the Classic Car Show are
here before the NEC opens its doors on Saturday
morning!
Details of the four vehicles on our stand are as
follows:
- YHT 511 - a J-type ice cream van owned by
Whitby Engineering (Europe's major
manufacturer of Ice Cream Vans) and which is part of their
collection of preserved ice cream vans. This originally worked in
Bristol as part of the Verrecchia fleet.
- 3891 EV - A coachbuilt Austin 101 pick-up in
regular use with its owner, Roland
Turner.
- RLB 778 - A GPO planners van owned by LDV Vans
and restored by apprentices in their
training workshops.
- 344 CNM - a 'standard' van owned and kept in
daily use by Nigel Stanley. Nigel has
carried out a few modifications to his van to make it the
wonderful advert for his business that it is. This one will turn
heads and raise eyebrows in equal measure.
Nigel's van has won awards at every show
that he has entered!
We will also be displaying a Fish4 poster
in all its 'Bunshi's Ices' glory and two
quarter-scale 'J's - my mini-NX and LDV's replica of the Smith
and Greaves van which they also own.
To cap it all, we are proud to have on display a
set of repro front panels by Iain McKenzie.
Thanks to the wonders of digital technology, we succeeded in posting
a shot of the Register stand on the 'News' page by
9 am Saturday morning (GMT), allowing J-type enthusiasts the world over
the chance to see 'the best bit of the Show' at the same time as those
coming in through the NEC doors!
Log on and enjoy!
