NEC 2004

An overall view of the stand at the NEC.
Tartaglia’s van towers over everything nearby, even dwarfing the J2s on the
stand behind. Unfortunately our ‘island of Morris~Commercial tranquility’
mentioned in the last J-type Review failed to materialise as the Minor LCV
Register stand, which was to have been behind us and the J2s, was replaced
by a local car club. We ended up with a Capri parked next to Merv’s J/B.
Yikes!

Dennis Bradley, owner of the red pick-up on our stand, chats to Michael
Dryden - owner of another pick-up from the same fleet! Seeing Dennis’ truck
looking so lovely has certainly fired Michael with the enthusiasm to make a
start on his.

A shot which gives an idea of how busy the stand was. The pick-up basked
in much glory, especially after Dennis raised the rear bed.

Sunday night, the show’s over and a lot of time has been saved thanks to
Matt Traxton and members of the J2 Register who kindly helped by ferrying
our stand stuff out to the car park rather than us have to queue to get NX
in to pick everything up. Many thanks guys, it was appreciated!

Monday morning and Tartaglia’s van awaits its transport up to Crewe, from
where it is going off to the Ice Cream Alliance Annual Show.

Loaded onto Whitby Engineering’s trailer the van sets off, attracting
interest from passers by.
We gained three new members at the Show, one each day, plus one
chap has joined since talking to us there, and another has promised to join
in January
We also spoke to the previous owner of Merv Whittingham’s van who was
really pleased to see it looking so well after all these years.
