Rally Dates 2009

This is by no means an exhaustive list of rallies just a list of events where J-type owners have attended in the past and where they are likely to be again! We cannot be held responsible for any errors or changes of dates or venues - this is meant only as a guide for planning your rally-going season. Always check in the classic press for up-to-date information!

May 2/3/4: Welsh Highland Railway Gala, Porthmadog
Just 41 miles away and scheduled for the same weekend is the Llandudno Transport Festival, now that would be a great road run! A more local run is being organised, between the Pen-y-Mount and the Ffestiniog stations, and there is potential for other runs, to the italianate village of  Portmeirion (featured in Review 14) and the  Prenteg RSPB Osprey project, both nearby.

May 30/31: Tatton Park ~ Cheshire Classic Car Show   the J-type owners’ annual bash! Book in with a van and entrance is free + free camping or caravan space for the number of passes that the Organisers allow - first come, first served.

August 2:   41st Annual Trans Pennine Run
Register member and Trans Pennine co-organiser Peter Seaword writes: “The 2009 Trans Pennine Run, the 41st, has Morris/Morris Commercial as the featured marque and I do hope that you are able to help in promoting this so that we get as representative a collection of the marque together, including a few J-types of course. I will be happy to include a reference to the Register in the programme AND to offer you an area at Harrogate to promote the Register - perhaps with or alongside the Morris~Commercial Club.”

September 12: Thunderfest, Darley Moor Race Circuit, Staffs
The Thunderfest is a new form of classic motorcycle sport, half way between a sedate parade and an all-out race. Something for everyone who likes the sound, sight and smell of old motorcycles. The organisers are presumably trying to get something of the feel of  the  Goodwood Revival by inviting car and other vehicle clubs to display, offering display space of 10x 4 metres (enough for 3 vans).

September18/19/20: Goodwood Revival   Classic motor racing at its best...

November 13/14/15: Classic Motor Show NEC    The biggest show of the year!
