Spend Father’s Day weekend in the company of J-types and their owners and fellow enthusiasts.
Turn up in a J-type, a J/B or a 101 to gain free entry for driver and passenger, and a goody bag containing lots of J-stuff.
Members turning up without a van will have to pay the Museum’s very reasonable Admission charges.
Coming up for sale at Anglia Car Auctions, AND WITH NO RESERVE, is this ex GPO Utility which the Register lost touch with about 25 years ago.
The auction is on the Saturday of the Anniversary rally at Wythall, so will be a talking point for sure.

We think that this is the only example of a J-type immortalised in a tattoo, send a photo if you know otherwise!
Thanks to Peter Bateman for the photo!

The 1:24th scale J-type model that was mastered by Phil Knight, one of our J-type owning Register members in Australia, is now available to purchase. It is listed for sale at www.thepartsbox.com as a complete kit (code number 1426), or body kit only (code number 1427). The body-only kit caters for those intrepid Aussies wishing to make a model of one of the custom J-types that exist over there. Prices are 1426: $82.50 + postage, and 1427: $35.20 + postage. I wonder how many of these kits will find their way to the UK?
If you are interested in purchasing one, visit:www.thepartsbox.com
The models are also available on ebay, but at higher prices than those quoted by The Parts Box

Another piece of artwork that seems to be modelled on KFL 954 (see J/B gallery by clicking MORRIS badge button)
How has this been and gone from somebody’s clothing range without us knowing about it?
I found this Monsoon child’s jumper – complete with patchwork J-type – on Ebay, rather by accident. Checking Monsoon’s own website shows that it is not currently in their range.

Two more jigsaws featuring J-types have come to light; there seems to be quite a following for the J among the jigsaw manufacturers, although it seems quite likely that their illustrators may never have seen a real one. Working from photos often brings up scale and perspective problems.
The J-type serving ice cream on the seafront seems to be modelled on KFL 954 (see J/B gallery by clicking MORRIS badge button)

Exactly a fortnight until the NEC opens its doors to the Classic Motor Show…
Andrew Trollope, back in Australia after visiting the UK and attending the 65th Anniversary, recently sent a copy of ‘I’ve an Uncle Ivan’ by Ben Sanders. Published in Australia in April this year, the hardback book has lovely illustrations with a very retro feel, plus the bonus of a 3D paper template/print which makes up into a J-type pie van! ISBN no: 978-0500500361, Thames and Hudson (Australia).
